The Secure DC Omnibus Amendment Act of 2024 (the “crimnibus”) was introduced by Councilmember Brooke Pinto with backing from Mayor Muriel Bowser in January. The DC Council voted on the bill for the first time on February 6th. It passed that first vote with some changes that would lessen some of the harm of the bill. However, many of the most harmful provisions are still intact.
